Bled weather
Bled is an idyllic town flanked by the Julian Alps and draped in lush greenery by the emerald green lake. The weather in Bled is mild sub-Alpine since the tall mountains nearby prevent the strong, chilly north winds from blowing into the town. The area is famous for its ski resort and there are activities available at the Alpine resort through the year. However, be warned that the weather can be somewhat unpredictable here.
Summers tend to be warm while winters are very cold. Temperatures in summer hover around the 20°C (68°F) mark while in winter the average is 0°C (32°F). The highest recorded temperature in Bled during summer was 37°C (98°F) and the lowest in winter was 26°C (14°F). The weather here is ideal for ice skating on the lake in winter - a really unusual and very special experience. In summer the same lake becomes a swimming pool for the locals as children and adults splash about in its warm waters. In the height of summer, in August, the water can be as warm as 24°C (75°F).
Rains come to the region in autumn and spring, so carry raincoats or umbrellas if you're visiting then. Sometimes, summer too can get chilly here and temperatures can drop to 10°C (50°F). Equally, autumn can sometimes get warm and you may see temperatures at 15°C (59°F). This sort of variation is unusual, though not unseen here.
